Abera Dessalgin launches ABD Designing in Adama

Abera Dessalgin, a professional with a BA in Accounting and Business Management, founded ABD Designing in Adama in 2023. The company focuses on graphic design, creative consultancy, and branding to bridge financial management and creative needs for local businesses.

Abera Dessalgin has established ABD Designing, a graphic design and branding firm, in Adama, Ethiopia. She launched the company in 2023 with undisclosed startup capital and currently employs 5 permanent staff and 12 contractual designers.

The firm's mission is to connect financial management with creative branding for local businesses, as Dessalgin explained. She highlighted the greatest benefit of ownership as transforming abstract ideas into concrete visual identities. Her key strengths include meticulous attention to detail and a solid foundation in financial planning. However, she faces challenges in recruiting creative talent who grasp the business aspects of design.

Looking ahead, Dessalgin aims to position ABD Designing as East Africa's top digital branding agency. Her first job was as a junior accountant. She expressed interest in meeting Bethlehem Tilahun, founder of SoleRebels. The person she most admires is Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. To relieve stress, she listens to spiritual music. Her favorite book is the Bible, and her preferred pastime is visiting art galleries. She would like to travel to France outside Ethiopia, and she has no favorite car.
