Addis Ababa mayor highlights five years of development revolution

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie stated that the city has carried out a development revolution over the past five years. She noted that 11 projects were opened for service in the last ten days alone.

Mayor Adanech Abiebie posted on social media that the city administration opened 11 projects in the past ten days. Examples include the Gelan Gura Industrial Park expected to create jobs for over 20,000 citizens and the Lafto Specialized Hospital supported by artificial intelligence technology described as the first of its kind in East Africa.

The mayor addressed suggestions that the projects were carried out for election purposes. She stated that work not done previously cannot reach an election and that it does not matter if completed projects benefit the public and the country.

The opened projects cover sectors such as industry, housing, recreation, markets, sports, education and health. They are located across sub-cities including Bole, Lemi Kura, Addis Ketema and Lafto.
