Åberg drops shots late in PGA Championship opener

Swedish golfer Ludvig Åberg ended his first round in the PGA Championship with three bogeys in five holes and carded 72 strokes, two over par.

Åberg began his round on the 10th hole at Aronimink Golf Club outside Philadelphia and stood one under par with six holes remaining. He opened with a bogey but answered with two birdies before the setbacks arrived.

The 26-year-old Swede was critical of his game afterward.
– I did not drive the ball well, I did not hit the irons so well, I did not putt well, Åberg told Viaplay.

Alex Norén and debutant Mikael Lindberg both finished one over par. Four players lead the event at three under par.
