On Katit 27, 2018 (FEC) in Addis Ababa, Acting Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh spoke at the inauguration of a military museum in the Janmeda area. He emphasized that Ethiopia has endured historical trials thanks to the unyielding efforts of its armed forces.
The museum honors living heroes who uphold the path of modern dignity, according to the minister. Despite political decisions since the 1950s attempting to silence this military tradition, it has maintained its institutional stance under the current government, he noted.
This achievement serves as a guiding light for the forthcoming grand national military museum, the minister stated. The facility houses pre-Adwa era brass instruments, emperors' crowns, and portraits from military history that recall early victories.
Showcasing developments from 1900 onward, including modern institutional formation, weapon evolution, and engineering advancements in defense, the center preserves history, knowledge, and heritage for the military and future generations. "We preserve from the past, commemorate today, and plan for tomorrow," Tiruneh remarked.
He invited Africans and peoples worldwide oppressed by colonial rule to visit the museum. The Ethiopian military, he said, raises a strong voice of peace from the continent to the global stage. The government assured continued support to ensure the military's legacy is transmitted to posterity.
