U.S. Africa Command Commander General Dagvin Anderson warned of interconnected security threats and a sixfold rise in narcotics trafficking at a symposium in Addis Ababa.
The African Logistics Communications Symposium took place in Addis Ababa from July 20 to 25. It brought together representatives from 40 countries and 26 international industry partners.
U.S. Africa Command Commander General Dagvin Anderson highlighted a sixfold increase in narcotics trafficking. He stressed the need for strong logistics infrastructure and international cooperation to address converging security threats.
U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin J. Massinga spoke on the value of practical partnerships. Major General Teshome Gemechu and Brigadier General Paul Frickna also addressed the gathering, which featured demonstrations from 26 U.S. private sector firms.
