The Los Angeles Angels placed veteran catcher Travis d'Arnaud on the 10-day injured list Friday with right foot plantar fasciitis. Omar Martinez was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to fill the roster spot.
The move leaves the Angels with limited options behind the plate. Starting catcher Logan O’Hoppe remains on the 10-day injured list after suffering a small left wrist fracture on April 25. O’Hoppe has progressed to hitting on the field and catching off a machine but still needs to face high-velocity pitching before returning.
