Athletics acquire José Suarez from Mariners in cash deal

The Athletics acquired left-hander José Suarez from the Mariners on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. Suarez will join his third organization this season after brief stints with the Braves and Mariners.

Suarez began the year with Atlanta, posting a 6.61 ERA in eight games before being designated for assignment on May 1. Seattle claimed him off waivers on May 3 but designated him again on Wednesday after one appearance, prompting the trade to Oakland.
