Rumors of an affair between Aura Kasih and Ridwan Kamil have revived her old comments on mistresses. The remarks were made during a podcast with Deddy Corbuzier about four years ago. Aura Kasih stressed that feelings cannot be prevented, even if morally wrong.
The emergence of alleged illicit relationship between singer Aura Kasih and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil has prompted the public to revisit the artist's past. A key focus is Aura Kasih's comments on mistresses from her appearance on Deddy Corbuzier's podcast about four years ago. Clips of the video are now circulating widely on social media, including TikTok.
In the podcast, Deddy Corbuzier asked, “Pelakor, salah nggak pelakor?” Aura Kasih replied, “Hmm ya salah sih ya.” She explained that a mistress's actions are wrong if motivated by material gain. However, if feelings arise naturally, they are hard to avoid as they are a gift from God.
“What's the intention, for example if I meet a guy who already has a wife. If my intention is just money, that's hugely wrong. But if I meet a guy I connect with who happens to be married. We can't avoid those feelings, right? What can we do? Feelings are given by God,” she said, as quoted from the video.
Deddy Corbuzier clarified, “So basically, your answer is whether it's by love or not, right?” Aura Kasih added that feelings between humans are part of our nature, endowed with reason and heart. “If the intention is just money, I think that's totally wrong. If we're talking about feelings, we can't stop them, because we're humans given feelings and reason. That's it. It flows,” she stated.
She also touched on a mistress's attitude toward the lawful wife, noting that mistresses rarely show empathy or good intentions toward the wife, especially if the affair affects household dynamics. These remarks are now fueling discussions amid the issues surrounding Aura Kasih herself.
