Promoter Ticketek is offering refunds to fans of Wu-Tang Clan's Australian tour dates after four members failed to appear. The absences occurred starting with the Brisbane show on March 25, with Method Man, Raekwon, Cappadonna, and Young Dirty Bastard not performing. Ticketek confirmed that some members would also miss the Melbourne and Sydney dates due to unforeseen circumstances.
Wu-Tang Clan's “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber” farewell tour, billed as featuring all surviving members, kicked off in Australia with the Brisbane performance on March 25. Fans were surprised when Method Man, Raekwon, Cappadonna, and Young Dirty Bastard—son of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard—did not appear. The group announced via Instagram that Method Man could not perform, but provided no explanation for the others' absences, as reported by Rolling Stone Australia and The Music Network. Ticketek has since issued refunds to affected ticket holders from the Brisbane show. Ahead of the remaining dates in Melbourne on March 27 and Sydney on March 28, Ticketek released a statement: “We want to make fans aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, a couple of members will be unable to join the remaining tour dates in Melbourne and Sydney.” The promoter added, “Wu-Tang Clan will be performing and bringing everything that has made them one of the most iconic live acts in hip-hop history.” This Australian leg follows the group's European tour dates and a North American run last summer. Wu-Tang Clan was nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last month, marking their first appearance on the ballot. The tour continues with a show in Yokohama, Japan, on May 24 and U.S. dates later this year. RZA described the tour upon its announcement as “a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers to run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture. Most importantly to touch our fans and those who have supported us throughout the years.”
