Billy Jones Forever Foundation launches to support emerging music professionals

A year after the death of New York nightlife figure Billy Jones, the Billy Jones Forever Foundation has launched to provide scholarships and mentorship for the next generation of music professionals. The organization will offer annual financial support and industry connections to recipients.

The foundation was announced on June 16 and includes a scholarship and mentorship fund. It will provide direct financial support each year for relocation, housing, equipment and travel, along with long-term guidance and access to professional networks.

Billy Jones, who died last June at age 45 from glioblastoma, co-founded the Brooklyn venue Baby’s All Right. The 280-capacity club opened in 2013 and hosted artists including SZA, Cypress Hill and Billie Eilish.

Jones’ sister BreAnn Tassone stated that the foundation allows his work to continue through its recipients. Friend David Jacobs described the scholarship as a way to honor Jones’ commitment to the music community.

Donations and applications are now open through the Billy Jones Forever Foundation, a fund of the nonprofit Make Something.
