Black Label Society announces album with Ozzy Osbourne tribute

Black Label Society has revealed plans for their 12th studio album, Engines of Demolition, set for release on March 27, 2026. The record features a tribute track to the late Ozzy Osbourne and follows their 2021 release Doom Crew Inc. Pre-orders are now available, alongside details of an upcoming North American tour.

Black Label Society, founded by guitarist Zakk Wylde in 1998, announced their new album Engines of Demolition on January 14, 2026. The 12th studio effort, described as capturing the highs and lows of recent years, will be released on March 27 via MNRK Heavy or Spinefarm Records, depending on reports. It marks the band's first full-length since 2021's Doom Crew Inc. and was written during Wylde's Pantera Celebration World Tour, completed in 2025.

The album includes 13 core tracks, such as 'Name In Blood,' 'Broken and Blind,' 'The Gallows,' 'Lord Humungus,' and the closing 'Ozzy’s Song.' This ballad pays tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, Wylde's longtime collaborator who died on July 22, 2025, from a heart attack. Wylde served as Osbourne's lead guitarist from 1987, starting with the 1988 album No Rest for the Wicked, until Osbourne's final show. They last performed together at the Back to the Beginning farewell concert on July 5, 2025, in Birmingham, England.

Wylde commented, “Engines of Demolition is a sincere ride through the peaks and valleys of the last four years from start to finish, some of the highest highs and lowest lows and everything in between.” Singles 'Broken and Blind' and 'Name In Blood' have been released, with a music video for the latter. Pre-orders, available now, include bonuses like 'Name in Blood (Unblackened)' and 'Lord Humungus (Unblackened)' for some bundles.

Supporting the release, a North American tour begins February 27 in San Antonio, Texas, with Wylde's Zakk Sabbath opening each night. It concludes May 14 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Earlier Black Label Society albums like Order of the Black and Catacombs of the Black Vatican reached the top five on hard rock charts.
