Brett Budgell signs with Östersunds IK in Sweden

Canadian forward Brett Budgell has agreed to join Östersunds IK for the upcoming season. The move keeps him in Europe after a stint in Austria.

Östersunds IK has secured Brett Budgell, a Canadian forward who can also play center. He arrives from Villacher SV in Austria, where he recorded six points in 13 games last season.

Budgell brings experience from several North American leagues, including the AHL, ECHL, QMJHL and USHL. The club views him as a useful offensive addition while it fills remaining roster spots.

The agreement was reported by Expressen on 21 June. Östersunds IK continues preparations for the new campaign in HockeyAllsvenskan.
