Peterman and Gallant, parents to one-year-old son Luke, met during the 2016 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials in Saskatchewan. Gallant reached out to Peterman via Facebook to form a team, sparking immediate chemistry. They won the 2019 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship and earned silver at the 2019 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, losing to Sweden. At the 2022 Worlds, they finished fifth. Their sixth-place result at the 2025 Worlds qualified them for Italy, where they honeymooned in 2022 after marrying that year.
This marks their first Olympics as teammates. In Beijing 2022, Peterman did not podium in women's curling, while Gallant won bronze with Brad Gushue's team. Now united, they join other early matches: Sweden beat South Korea 10-3, Great Britain defeated Norway 8-6, and Switzerland edged Estonia 9-7 in an extra end.
Canada seeks to return to the mixed doubles podium after missing one in 2022. Peterman and Gallant will continue round-robin play, aiming for a top-four finish to advance.
