The Vancouver Canucks confirmed a new leadership structure on Thursday, promoting Ryan Johnson to general manager and appointing Daniel and Henrik Sedin as co-presidents of hockey operations.
The announcement on May 14 formalizes changes that had been anticipated since the dismissal of general manager Patrik Allvin last month. Johnson, who joined the organization in 2013 and most recently served as assistant general manager, led the Abbotsford Canucks to the 2025 Calder Cup. He replaces Allvin and succeeds Jim Rutherford, who had stepped away from day-to-day hockey operations earlier in May. The Sedin twins, who spent the past two seasons in player-development roles, will now hold co-president titles overseeing hockey operations.
