CBS releases trailer for Yellowstone spinoff Marshals

CBS has unveiled a trailer and posters for Marshals, a new spinoff from the Yellowstone series starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. The show follows Dutton as he leaves the Yellowstone Ranch to join the U.S. Marshals, tackling crime in Montana while managing family obligations and the psychological strains of the job. It premieres on March 1, 2026, on CBS and streams on Paramount+.

Marshals, formerly known as Y: Marshals, marks the latest expansion of the Yellowstone universe. The series stars Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton, the ex-Navy SEAL and youngest Dutton sibling. According to CBS, Dutton "joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana." The plot centers on Kayce and his team balancing the "high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence" with duties to their families.

The ensemble includes new characters: Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos), and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means). Familiar faces from Yellowstone return, such as Brecken Merrill as Kayce's son Tate, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo from the Broken Rock reservation. Notably, Kelsey Asbille's Monica Dutton is absent from announcements and promotional materials, sparking speculation about her character's fate.

The official trailer hints at Kayce's past trauma and the dangers of his new role. CBS dropped the "Y:" from the title in January 2026. Marshals will premiere on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS, anchoring Sunday nights ahead of Tracker at 9:00 PM and Watson at 10:00 PM. The first season consists of 13 episodes, airing first on CBS and then available on Paramount+—live and on-demand for Premium subscribers, or on-demand the next day for Essential users.
