COMEDK Starts Counselling Amid CET Delays in Karnataka

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka has begun its counselling process for engineering courses for 2026-27 due to delays by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

The delay in the commencement of the Common Entrance Test counselling process by the Karnataka Examinations Authority has forced the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka to go ahead with its schedule.

As mentioned in the consensual agreement signed between the state government and the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association, both parties have agreed to the consortium proceeding if the authority fails to complete the first round of counselling by July 10, 2026.

A consortium authority said that they had started the counselling process and even option entry is under way. The authority will wait till July 10, 2026, to announce the results of the seat allotment.

Even on June 13, 2026, the authority did not receive the final seat matrix of the engineering courses, and there is no clarity about the counselling schedule yet. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education and Co-Chairman of the Authority, promised that he will discuss the issue with the Chief Minister soon.
