Doosan Enerbility wins 530 billion won Oman power plant contract

Doosan Enerbility Co. has won a contract to build a combined cycle power plant in Oman. The company announced the 530 billion won deal on Monday.

Doosan Enerbility formed an engineering, procurement and construction consortium with China's SEPCO-3 to build the 870-megawatt plant in Duqm, 550 kilometers south of Muscat.

Under the deal, Doosan Enerbility will manufacture and supply steam turbines and generators. The plant is scheduled to be completed by 2029 in Duqm's special economic zone.

The project consortium includes Korea Western Power, Qatar's Nebras Power, the United Arab Emirates' Etihad Water and Electricity, and Bahwan Infrastructure Services of Oman. Lee Hyun-ho, head of the company's plant EPC division, said the win was based on Middle East project experience and EPC capabilities.
