A car driver died in a collision with an express train at a crossing in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, on Friday morning. None of the 560 passengers on the train were injured, police said.
In Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, a car collided with the limited express train Hitachi at a crossing on the JR Joban Line on the morning of March 13. According to police, the car driver died, but none of the 560 passengers on the train were injured.
The Mito branch of East Japan Railway Co. stated that the train was the limited express Hitachi bound for Sendai from Shinagawa. As a result of the accident, services on the Joban Line were suspended between Tomobe and Katsuta stations.
The incident occurred on Friday morning, and police are investigating the cause.
