Dropout hires new heads for production and marketing

Dropout, the comedy streaming service formerly known as CollegeHumor, has announced several key hires and a promotion to bolster its production, development, and marketing teams. The moves come as the platform reaches new subscriber milestones and expands its programming slate. CEO Sam Reich expressed enthusiasm for the additions, highlighting their role in elevating the company's offerings.

Dropout's recent personnel changes include the appointment of Alexandria Black-Davis as head of marketing, where she will lead efforts to scale the brand, drawing on her experience at companies like BELLA+CANVAS, Shinola, and Whip Media.

Lindsay Wilkinson joins as head of production, tasked with overseeing the end-to-end pipeline to ensure high-quality programming aligned with Dropout's vision. Her background spans networks such as ABC, NBC, VH1, MTV, HGTV, E!, and Food Network, with credits on shows like "Below Deck" and "Cupcake Wars," as well as events including the Critics Choice Awards and American Music Awards.

In development, Elyse Findley and Rosie Kaller have been hired as managers. Findley, a former Disney executive, brings expertise in comedy and animated series from projects like "Disney Mickey Mouse," "Big City Greens," and "DuckTales," which have earned Annie and Emmy awards. Kaller, a CollegeHumor alum, recently produced Emmy-winning late-night programs such as John Mulaney's "Everybody’s in LA" and "The Late Late Show with James Corden," and has worked with HBO Max, iHeart Media, Aggregate Films, and Mar Vista Entertainment.

Additionally, Ebony Elaine Hardin has been promoted from supervising producer to director of production after nearly nine years with the company. She will manage physical production for original comedy shows, supporting creator-driven storytelling and having played a key role in scaling operations.

These updates follow Dropout's streaming service hitting 1 million subscribers last fall and introducing a "Superfan" tier. The strategy aims to grow the development slate, acquire new programming, enhance production, and tailor marketing for projects like "Dimension 20," "Game Changer," and "Make Some Noise."

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Lindsay, Alex, Elyse and Rosie to our team at Dropout, and to elevate Ebony to her well-deserved leadership role," Reich said. "As we hit new milestones as a business, expanding our production, development and marketing teams is a natural and exciting next step."
