Ellyas Pical painting auctioned for Rp 50 million at Pattimura Big Fight

An auction of a painting by Indonesian boxing legend Ellyas Pical at the Pattimura International Big Fight 2026 raised Rp 50 million, purchased by Maluku Governor Hendrik Lewerissa to cover medical costs.

The Pattimura International Big Fight 2026 amateur and professional boxing championship took place at Studio TVRI Senayan in Jakarta on Friday night, May 29, 2026. A painting of Ellyas Pical featuring National Hero Kapitan Pattimura was auctioned and sold for Rp 50 million.

Ellyas Pical, who attended in a wheelchair, went up to the ring during the handover of the auction proceeds. His wife, Rina Sihaaya, thanked Governor Hendrik Lewerissa, promoter Nikolas Johan Kilikily, and the committee. She said the support provided a major morale boost for her husband.

"Ellyas Pical and I thank Mr. Maluku Governor Hendrik Lewerissa for his extraordinary response to this painting auction," Rina said. Ellyas felt very appreciated and was eager to greet the public.
