Frederik Dichow signs two-year deal with Timrå IK

Danish national team goaltender Frederik Dichow has joined SHL club Timrå IK from HV71 on a two-year contract. Timrå sport chief Kent Norberg, who previously recruited Dichow to HV71, led the move. Dichow expressed excitement about competing in SCA Arena.

Timrå IK confirmed the signing of 25-year-old Frederik Dichow, a VM- and OS-merited goalkeeper for Denmark. Dichow spent the past three seasons with HV71 before moving to Medelpad. He arrived at HV71 from Frölunda in December 2023 and helped the team avoid relegation through qualifiers in 2024 and 2025 under Norberg's guidance there as well. An injury in late October, followed by a setback at the Olympics with Denmark, kept him out since then. Timrå sport chief Kent Norberg said on the club's website: “Frederik is a goaltender we have followed for a long time. He has a very high peak level and has shown, not least in national team contexts, that he can perform when it matters most. We are getting a hungry and ambitious player who wants to take the next step in his career, and we are convinced that our environment will suit him very well.” Dichow will vie for starts with Jacob Johansson. The new arrival said: “It feels very inspiring to come to Timrå IK. I have gotten a good picture of the club, both in terms of ambitions and the environment around the team. For me, it’s about continuing to develop and contribute with my game – and I really look forward to playing in front of the fans in SCA Arena.” Timrå also acquired defenseman Wilhelm Hallquisth from HV71.
