Following last week's trailer release, HBO Max has shared new promotional images from the DC Studios series Lanterns, starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. The Green Lantern drama, inspired by True Detective-style mysteries, investigates a murder in the American heartland and premieres this August on HBO and Max.
Building on the first trailer unveiled earlier this week—which showcased the buddy-cop dynamic between veteran Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and rookie John Stewart (Aaron Pierre), along with key cast like Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and Kelly Macdonald as sheriff Kerry—HBO Max has now released fresh images for Lanterns.
The photos highlight the leads in action, teasing the grounded investigation into an Earth-bound murder with cosmic undertones. Co-created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King (with Mundy as showrunner), the series is executive produced by the creators, James Gunn, Peter Safran, James Hawes, and Ron Schmidt. Hawes directed the pilot, joined by Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov.
These images heighten excitement for the eight-episode season, a key part of the rebooted DC Universe.
