The Iglesia ni Cristo rally at the EDSA-White Plains area in Quezon City continued into its second day on Wednesday, July 1, with around 4,000 participants gathered by 5 a.m. The protest supports Sen. Rodante Marcoleta amid an impending plunder case.

The rally began early Tuesday morning without an initial permit and drew thousands of INC members to the People Power Monument area. Organizers later obtained a permit from the Quezon City government allowing the event along White Plains Avenue from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said authorities would await any extension permit if the rally goes beyond 8 p.m., provided participants remain orderly. He also warned that buses blocking EDSA northbound lanes could be towed if not moved back.

Malacañang stated that President Marcos views the unannounced protest as no threat to his security and directed police to exercise maximum tolerance. Traffic measures stayed in place as police coordinated with organizers to maintain order.
