Isabell Werth to give dressage clinic in Wellington in February

Isabell Werth, the most decorated equestrian in history, will host a clinic at Helgstrand Dressage in Wellington following a World Cup qualifier. The event offers a chance for fans to learn from the seven-time German Olympian. It is scheduled for February 21, 2026.

Isabell Werth, renowned as the most decorated equestrian in history with 14 Olympic medals including eight gold, is set to give a clinic at Helgstrand Dressage in Wellington, Florida, on February 21, 2026. The session will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at 4452 South Shore Blvd., following her participation in a World Cup qualifier at the Global Dressage Festival.

Lars Petersen, manager of the Helgstrand operation in Wellington, described the clinic as an opportunity for Isabell to "share her insight, expertise, and mastery of dressage." He added, "This is a rare opportunity to witness excellence at the highest level and be inspired by a true icon of our sport."

The program is still being finalized but may feature Werth riding a couple of horses and providing critiques to other riders. Refreshments will be available, and RSVPs are requested via email at mt@helgstranddressage.dk.

Prior to the clinic, Werth plans to compete on her 16-year-old gelding DSP Quantaz, the reserve champion from the 2025 World Cup Final. The qualifier includes a Grand Prix on Thursday, February 19, and a Freestyle on Friday night under lights at the Global grounds.

This appearance comes a month after a masterclass by Kyra Kyrklund, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, and Jan Brink on January 21 at the same venue, presented by 3 Graces Dressage and Wellington International.

Werth's illustrious career spans Olympics from 1992 to 2024, seven World Equestrian Games or Championships, 26 World Cup Finals where she was champion five times, and 17 European Championships. Reflecting on her history in Wellington, she said, "Sixteen years ago, I competed in Wellington for the first time with Satchmo. I have fond memories of my time there and I am excited to compete there once again in 2026. I look forward to sunny skies in February and welcoming dressage fans at the renowned Adequan Global Dressage Festival."

Currently ranked eighth in Western Europe after two qualifiers, Werth is poised to qualify for the World Cup Final in Fort Worth, Texas, in April, with full points available at this event.
