Javier Milei participa de exercícios navais a bordo do USS Nimitz

O presidente Javier Milei pousou no porta-aviões nuclear americano USS Nimitz no Mar Argentino para participar de exercícios navais conjuntos. Milei estava acompanhado pela secretária-geral da Presidência, Karina Milei, pelo chanceler Pablo Quirno e pelo ministro da Defesa, Carlos Presti. O USS Nimitz, um dos porta-aviões nucleares mais poderosos do mundo, está realizando manobras com navios argentinos, incluindo o contratorpedeiro ARA “La Argentina”, a corveta ARA “Rosales”, entre outros.

Os exercícios, autorizados pelo Decreto 264/2026, ocorreram de 27 a 30 de abril na Zona Econômica Exclusiva da Argentina. Eles incluíram manobras de formação, exercícios de defesa aérea com simulações de F-18, operações aéreas conjuntas e um Photoex. O comandante da Flota de Mar, contra-almirante Pablo Germán Basso, observou que os exercícios aprimoram as capacidades navais argentinas e a interoperabilidade com a Marinha dos EUA.

Militares argentinos como os tenentes Julio Escudero e Romina Banegas, e o suboficial Jorge Ortiz, estão envolvidos no planejamento a bordo do USS Nimitz. As atividades visam construir confiança mútua entre as duas marinhas no Atlântico Sul.
