Javier Milei participó en ejercicios navales a bordo del USS Nimitz

El presidente Javier Milei aterrizó en el portaaviones nuclear estadounidense USS Nimitz en el Mar Argentino para participar en ejercicios navales conjuntos. Lo acompañaron Karina Milei, el canciller Pablo Quirno y el ministro de Defensa Carlos Presti. La visita forma parte del ejercicio Passex 2026 con la Armada Argentina.

El presidente Javier Milei participó este mediodía del 30 de abril de 2026 en una actividad conjunta a bordo del USS Nimitz, ubicado al sur de Mar del Plata. Aterrizó en la cubierta del buque desde un Grumman C-2 Greyhound estadounidense, en el marco de los ejercicios binacionales Passex 2026 organizados por el Comando Sur de Estados Unidos y la Embajada de EE.UU. en Argentina.

Milei estuvo acompañado por la secretaria General de la Presidencia, Karina Milei; el canciller Pablo Quirno y el ministro de Defensa, Carlos Presti. También se sumaron el embajador de EE.UU. Peter Lamelas y otros funcionarios. El USS Nimitz, uno de los portaaviones nucleares más poderosos del mundo, realiza maniobras con buques argentinos como el destructor ARA “La Argentina”, la corbeta ARA “Rosales”, y otros.

Los ejercicios, autorizados por el Decreto 264/2026, se desarrollaron entre el 27 y el 30 de abril en la Zona Económica Exclusiva argentina. Incluyeron maniobras en formación, ejercicios de defensa aérea con simulaciones de F-18, operaciones aéreas conjuntas y un Photoex. El contraalmirante Pablo Germán Basso, comandante de la Flota de Mar, destacó que las maniobras mejoran las capacidades navales argentinas y fortalecen la interoperabilidad con la Marina de EE.UU.

Argentinos como los capitanes de corbeta Julio Escudero y Romina Banegas, y el suboficial Jorge Ortiz, participan en la planificación a bordo del USS Nimitz. Estas actividades buscan afianzar la confianza mutua entre ambas armadas en el Atlántico Sur.
