John Tortorella departs Vegas Golden Knights after Cup Final run

Vegas Golden Knights have confirmed that head coach John Tortorella will not return following the 2025-26 season. The 67-year-old had taken over a struggling squad in March and led the team all the way to the Stanley Cup Final.

General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced the decision in a statement released by the club. Tortorella guided Vegas to 19 wins in its final 24 regular-season games and advanced past Utah, Anaheim and the Colorado Avalanche before reaching the Final against Carolina Hurricanes.

The Italian-American coach had restored confidence to a team that lacked momentum earlier in the campaign after replacing Bruce Cassidy on March 29. His departure ends a successful but brief tenure with the franchise.

No immediate replacement has been named by the organization.
