Ryan Craig named Vegas Golden Knights head coach

The Vegas Golden Knights have named Ryan Craig as their new head coach. The 44-year-old moves up from the team's AHL affiliate after serving in the organization since 2017.

Craig replaces John Tortorella, who led the team to the Stanley Cup Final after taking over late in the regular season. He spent the past three seasons as head coach of the Henderson Silver Knights, where the team improved each year and reached the Calder Cup Playoffs in 2025-26 with a 39-21-7-5 record.

Before his time in Henderson, Craig served six seasons as an assistant coach with the Golden Knights. He was part of the staff that won the Stanley Cup championship in 2023.

As a player, Craig appeared in 198 NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets. He also played 711 AHL games and captained the Cleveland Monsters to the Calder Cup title in 2016.
