FromSoftware, known for titles like Dark Souls and Elden Ring, has been relatively quiet about its upcoming projects for Nintendo's next console. In its recent earnings report, parent company Kadokawa provided reassurance by stating that the studio "currently has multiple titles in the development pipeline, including Elden Ring Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods (both slated for a 2026 release for Nintendo Switch 2)." This confirmation appears on page 15 of the 37-page report, in a section outlining future projections for the gaming business.
Elden Ring was first announced for Switch 2 last year, with an initial 2025 release window. However, the port—titled Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition—was delayed in October to "allow time for performance adjustments." No new date was given at the time, and it was absent from Nintendo's February Partner Showcase, which focused on third-party titles. The edition will include two new classes for players exploring the Lands Between.
The Duskbloods, a Nintendo exclusive, was revealed during the first major Switch 2 Direct in 2025. Described as a PvPvE title with online multiplayer for up to eight participants, it involves competition among players and against foes, featuring elements like jet packs and dinosaurs. Initially teased with bloody vibes that sparked Bloodborne speculation, it is a new vampiric IP and soulslike game. A reveal trailer aired nearly a year ago, followed by a brief clip at The Game Awards, but updates have been scarce since.
The absence of both games from the recent Direct raised questions about their status, yet Kadokawa's report indicates they are proceeding as planned for 2026. Fans in the overlap of Nintendo and FromSoftware interests can anticipate more details in the coming months.
