Linda Perry to receive special songwriting prize at Ivor Novello Awards

Linda Perry, frontwoman of 4 Non Blondes, will be honored with the special international songwriter prize at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards in London. The ceremony is scheduled for May 21 at the Grosvenor Hotel. Perry's award recognizes her extensive songwriting credits with major artists.

Linda Perry will collect the prestigious award at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards, which celebrate songwriters and composers from the U.K. and international community. The prizes are judged by a panel of the Ivors Academy's songwriter and composer members. Perry's contributions include 4 Non Blondes' 'What’s Going On?', which reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as hits like Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful', Gwen Stefani's 'What You Waiting For?' and P!nk's 'Get the Party Started'. She has also worked with Adele, Ariana Grande and Celine Dion. Three of her five Grammy nominations have been for songwriting, including twice for song of the year and once for best song written for visual media. Perry said in a statement, “It’s an honor to be recognized for my songwriting contributions at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards. So many incredible artists have been celebrated, and I am humbled to be standing alongside them.” Roberto Neri, CEO of the Ivors Academy, added, “Linda Perry’s songwriting continues to have a profound impact on global popular culture. We are proud to honor her with the special international award at The Ivors, celebrating her incredible music and authentic craft.” The Ivors Academy confirmed on April 29 that Rosalía will receive the international songwriter of the year award for her 2025 album LUX. Nominations were announced in March, with Olivia Dean, Lily Allen, Kae Tempest and Wolf Alice receiving the most nods. The most recent recipient of Perry's award was Brandon Flowers of The Killers, presented by Bruce Springsteen.
