The Section V Alpine Skiing Championships took place at Bristol Mountain Ski Resort in Canandaigua this week, featuring standout performances from several GLOW region athletes. Livonia/Avon's Maeve Seeley dominated the Class B girls giant slalom, completing her run in 2 minutes 23.49 seconds to claim the title. In the slalom, she finished third with a time of 2 minutes 12.26 seconds.

Her strong showings contributed to the Lakers' third-place finish in the Class B team standings. Seeley earned qualification for the state championships as the sole representative from the GLOW region. The event highlighted individual achievements in slalom and giant slalom disciplines, with Section V selecting its New York State qualifiers based on these results.

Photos from the championships captured the girls' New York State qualifiers, underscoring the competitive nature of the meet. Other GLOW region teams, including Livonia/Avon and Hornell girls, achieved top-three finishes, while the Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton boys placed third. The championships provided a platform for winter sports athletes in the region to compete in alpine skiing events.
