The New York Mets have begun fielding trade offers and informed other teams they are prepared to sell ahead of the August 3 deadline.
The Mets consider several young players unavailable for trades. These include outfielders Carson Benge and A.J. Ewing, right-handed starters Christian Scott and Nolan McLean, and Juan Soto.
The team will listen to offers for other players, including Francisco Lindor. Lindor holds a full no-trade clause and is under contract for $32.4 million annually through 2031. His current slash line stands at .216/.298/.373.
Players nearing free agency after this season represent the clearest candidates. They include relievers Brooks Raley and A.J. Minter along with starters Clay Holmes and Freddy Peralta. Holmes is recovering from a fractured right leg and has expressed openness to a contract extension.
Additional names that could attract interest are relievers Luke Weaver and Huascar Brazobán, catchers Francisco Alvarez and Luis Torrens, and infielders Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio. Weaver has posted a 1.85 ERA and 0.82 WHIP in 37 appearances this season.
