Miami Marlins announce 2026 spring training non-roster invitees

The Miami Marlins have invited 31 non-roster players to their 2026 spring training camp, featuring top prospects like Thomas White and Robby Snelling. This group includes eight of the team's top 30 prospects, highlighting emerging talent ahead of the season. The announcement underscores the organization's focus on developing young players for potential major league contributions.

The Miami Marlins announced on Thursday the 31 non-roster invitees for their 2026 spring training, with the list led by standout prospects. Thomas White, the organization's top prospect and MLB Pipeline's No. 17 overall, headlines the group after a strong 2025 season, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.182 WHIP, and 14.6 K/9 across 21 starts in High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A at age 20. Robby Snelling, Miami's No. 4 prospect and MLB's No. 39, earned the team's Minor League Pitcher of the Year honors with a 3.61 ERA in 14 Double-A starts and a 1.27 ERA in 11 Triple-A outings. Both pitchers helped Triple-A Jacksonville win the national championship in 2025, though they are unlikely to break camp with the major league roster due to established rotation members like Sandy Alcantara and Eury Pérez, plus returnees Max Meyer and Braxton Garrett from injuries and surgeries, respectively. Other rotation contenders include Janson Junk, Bradley Blalock, Adam Mazur, and Ryan Gusto, while lefty Dax Fulton remains on the 40-man roster after recovering from his second Tommy John surgery, where he recorded a 5.38 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A. Outfielder Kemp Alderman, the Marlins' No. 11 prospect and Minor League Player of the Year, rounds out the top invitees after leading the system with 139 hits, 22 home runs, 47 extra-base hits, 70 RBIs, and 235 total bases in 2025. Additional notable prospects include outfielders Dillon Lewis (No. 14) and Brendan Jones (No. 15), acquired from the New York Yankees on January 13, as well as Karson Milbrandt (No. 22), Andrew Pintar, and Fenwick Trimble (No. 27). The invitees comprise 15 pitchers—left-handers Justin King, Patrick Monteverde, Snelling, Dale Stanavich, and White; right-handers Zach Brzykcy, Nigel Belgrave, Josh Ekness, Stephen Jones, Evan McKendry, Milbrandt, Jack Ralston, Jesús Tinoco, Samuel Vasquez, and Tyler Zuber—and 16 position players, including catchers Bennett Hostetler, Ryan Ignoffo, Brian Navarreto, and Sam Praytor; infielders Jesús Bastidas, Jacob Berry, Dylan Jasso, Nathan Martorella, and Johnny Olmstead; and outfielders Alderman, Matthew Etzel, Daniel Johnson, Jones, Lewis, Pintar, and Trimble. Six players bring major league experience: Brzykcy (0.124 years with Washington), Johnson (1.025 with Baltimore and San Francisco), Monteverde (0.001 with Miami), Navarreto (0.061 with Miami), Tinoco (2.112 with Colorado, Miami, Texas, and Chicago-NL), and Zuber (2.157 with Kansas City, Tampa Bay, New York-NL, and Miami). Pitchers and catchers report for their first workout on February 11 in Jupiter, Florida, with full-squad workouts beginning February 16. The Marlins' regular season opens March 27 against the Colorado Rockies at 7:10 p.m.
