Minister emphasizes maximizing industrial asset utilization in public enterprises strategy

Mohamed El-Shimy, Minister of the Public Enterprises Sector, stated that maximizing the utilization of industrial assets is a central pillar of the ministry's strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in local and international markets while supporting sustainable economic development. He made these remarks during a meeting with Dakahleya Governor Tarek Marzouk at the start of a visit to inspect Delta Fertilizers Company in Talkha.

During the meeting held at the beginning of the minister's visit to inspect Delta Fertilizers Company in Talkha—a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries affiliated with the Ministry of the Public Enterprises Sector—ways to strengthen cooperation between the ministry and Dakahleya Governorate were reviewed across several development-related files and projects, particularly those involving the ministry's companies operating in the governorate.

The discussions align with the state's plans to promote and modernize national industry, with a special focus on the fertilizer sector as a strategically important industry for the national economy and food security. El-Shimy noted that Delta Fertilizers Company is one of the key industrial entities within the public enterprises system and receives special attention under a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate and modernize its operations. This plan aims to improve production and operational efficiency, meet local fertilizer demand, expand export capacity, and support overall economic performance.

For his part, Dakahleya Governor Tarek Marzouk commended the Ministry of the Public Enterprises Sector's efforts to develop state-owned companies and revitalize production. He reaffirmed the governorate's full support for the development projects at Delta Fertilizers Company, highlighting its vital role in supplying the local market, increasing exports, and advancing sustainable industrial development within the governorate.
