Mintrocket unveils details for Dave the Diver's jungle DLC

Developer Mintrocket has shared new information about the upcoming Dave the Diver DLC, In The Jungle, via its latest vlog. The expansion introduces fresh locations, mechanics inspired by life-simulation games, and a new restaurant setup. Originally teased last year, the DLC is now slated for 2026 release.

Mintrocket revealed more about the forthcoming Dave the Diver DLC, titled In The Jungle, in its latest developer vlog. First teased at last year's The Game Awards, the expansion faced a delay announced in June, pushing its release to 2026 without a specific date yet confirmed. The content promises around 10 hours of new gameplay, marking a substantial addition to the original adventure.

A key new area is the jungle village of Utara, where time progresses in real-time. Players can befriend villagers, gather resources, and complete quests in an isometric view reminiscent of Animal Crossing-style simulations. This village ties into a fresh establishment, the Bancho Grill restaurant. Unlike the base game's fixed horizontal movement, Dave can now freely navigate the space, serving meals to visiting villagers. The menu shifts to grilled dishes, as the nearby freshwater lake's aquatic life—such as fish—requires cooking before consumption.

The lake itself brings dangers including piranhas and crocodiles, alongside catchable tasty fish. To tackle underwater threats, Dave gains the Jungle Gun, a versatile weapon that switches between modes like net guns, shotguns, and snipers for more dynamic combat.

Overall, In The Jungle experiments with new gameplay elements and minigames, extending the core experience. Separately, Dave the Diver is expanding to mobile devices next year, launching first in China before going global with platform-optimized controls. This follows its recent Xbox release last month, announced at the Xbox Partner Preview, making it available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
