Following earlier casting announcements for the modern reimagining of Mystery Inc.'s origins—McKenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones—Netflix has confirmed the series title as Scooby-Doo: Origins and shared its first production photo. The image, released as filming begins in Atlanta, Georgia, features the young actors in costume, complete with a mysterious paw print hinting at the Great Dane puppy. Paul Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai) has joined in an undisclosed role. The plot follows old friends Shaggy and Daphne encountering a haunting mystery involving a lost Great Dane during their final summer at camp. They team up with townie Velma and newcomer Freddy to solve a supernatural murder that exposes their secrets. Showrunners Josh Applebaum and Scott Rosenberg lead the project, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman (Berlanti Productions), André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson (Midnight Radio), and Toby Haynes directing the first episode.
