Nigéria ordena repressão ao armazenamento clandestino de GLP em meio a alta de preços

O governo federal determinou que os órgãos reguladores reprimam o armazenamento clandestino e o desvio de gás liquefeito de petróleo (GLP). A medida ocorre após uma disparada nos preços do gás de cozinha e uma reunião de emergência entre as partes interessadas realizada em 22 de junho de 2026.

O Ministro de Estado dos Recursos Petrolíferos (Gás), Ekperikpe Ekpo, emitiu a diretriz na reunião em Abuja. Ele instruiu a Autoridade Reguladora de Petróleo Midstream e Downstream da Nigéria (NMDPRA) e outros órgãos a intensificar a vigilância, investigar manipulações e sancionar os infratores.

O diretor executivo da NMDPRA, Rabiu Umar, afirmou que a autoridade emitirá licenças de importação para cobrir uma lacuna de oferta projetada de 165.000 toneladas métricas no terceiro trimestre de 2026. A suficiência do abastecimento já melhorou de 11 para 22 dias após a chegada de importações recentes.

Umar acrescentou que o fornecimento diário atingiu 5.040 toneladas métricas em 19 de junho. A Anoh Gas está programada para iniciar entregas de 50 toneladas métricas por dia a partir de julho de 2026.

A autoridade planeja auditar os compradores, implantar tecnologia de rastreamento e apoiar a expansão da infraestrutura. Ekpo afirmou que o governo permanece comprometido em priorizar o GLP nacional para o consumo local.
