NVIDIA unveils GeForce Now updates at GDC 2026

NVIDIA announced several enhancements for its GeForce Now cloud gaming service during the 2026 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Key updates include improved game discoverability, upgraded virtual reality streaming, and new titles joining the platform. The service also expands account linking and introduces free-to-play access for Fortnite's Save the World mode.

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2026, held in San Francisco, served as the backdrop for NVIDIA's latest GeForce Now announcements. The cloud gaming platform introduced in-app labels for connected accounts from Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft+, making it simpler for members to identify available titles from their subscriptions. These labels appear directly on game art within the app, reducing the need to search across platforms.

Virtual reality streaming receives a performance boost, with supported devices now streaming at 90 frames per second for Ultimate members, up from 60 fps. This upgrade, effective from March 19, applies to devices including Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and Pico headsets, aiming to enhance smoothness and responsiveness in VR experiences.

Account linking expands with GOG integration and library syncing arriving in the coming months, following the Gaijin single sign-on from CES in January. The Install-to-Play library grows with select Xbox titles, such as Brutal Legend from Double Fine Productions and Contrast from Compulsion Games, allowing downloads for offline play.

New games launch day-and-date on GeForce Now, including Remedy's CONTROL Resonant, an action-adventure RPG involving supernatural powers in a warped Manhattan, and Liquid Swords' Samson: A Tyndalston Story, a gritty action brawler set in Tyndalston for PC. This week's additions feature Capcom's Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, an RPG where players become Riders bonding with monsters, alongside Warcraft I: Remastered and Warcraft II: Remastered on Ubisoft (March 11), 1348 Ex Voto, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, and Greedfall: The Dying World 1.0 on Steam (March 12, GeForce RTX 5080-ready).

Fortnite's original 2017 co-op mode, Save the World, becomes free-to-play on April 16, with pre-registration starting March 12. This player-versus-environment story includes gathering, crafting, four classes, over 150 heroes and weapons, and more than 100 hours of content, though it is unavailable on mobile devices. On GeForce Now, it streams with low latency.

Ultimate members can claim the Advancing Gloom Soldier Skin reward for EA's Battlefield 6, redeemable at EA.com/redeem until April 12 or while supplies last.
