Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut) through the Pertamina Peduli program has established two tent posts functioning as a temporary school and pesantren for children affected by a natural disaster in Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh. The posts are located in the Masjid At-Taqwa complex, Kota Meureudu, Meureudu Subdistrict, selected for easy access, safety, and a supportive learning environment.
The inaugural learning activities began on Monday (January 5), coinciding with the first day of school after the holiday break. Structured learning includes school subjects in the morning and Diniyah religious education in the afternoon, balancing formal and religious instruction. The facility serves around 200 learners, comprising 50 TK and SD students and 150 Diniyah santri. Children participate enthusiastically, supported by teachers, instructors, and Pertamina volunteers.
Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, stated that this initiative is part of the commitment to support post-disaster social recovery, particularly in education. "We understand that children's education must not stop, even in emergency conditions due to disaster. Through this Pertamina Peduli Post, we want to ensure children in Pidie Jaya can still learn safely and comfortably, while maintaining their spirit to continue schooling," said Fahrougi.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV. Dumatubun, emphasized that the post aims to revive spirit and new hope for affected children. "Pertamina Patra Niaga strives to support the continuity of learning activities to resume. We hope this facility can help create a safe and comfortable learning space, so children remain motivated to learn amid the post-disaster recovery process," added Roberth.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut continues to coordinate with local government and related parties to ensure aid is targeted and beneficial for the community.
