A man identified as DS, suspected of stealing a motorcycle in Binjai, was arrested by Polres Binjai's Cobra Team after resisting officers. The arrest took place in Sunggal subdistrict on April 19, 2026, early morning. Police seized a T-key and a cellphone as evidence.
Polres Binjai's Cobra Team arrested DS (21), a resident of Sunggal subdistrict in Deli Serdang regency, North Sumatra, early Sunday, April 19, 2026, around 04:30 WIB. The arrest followed a tip from the public about the suspect's location.
The case stemmed from the theft of victim RAM's black Honda Vario 2012 motorcycle with license plate BK 2031 ACU. It vanished while parked in front of the victim's barbershop on Gunung Semeru Street, Binjai Estate ward, Binjai Selatan subdistrict, on the night of November 27, 2025.
Binjai Police Chief AKBP Mirzal Maulana said, "Victim RAM parked the motorcycle... When the victim was about to leave, the motorcycle was gone." Criminal Investigation Head AKP Hizkia Siagian deployed a team led by Pidum Unit Head Iptu Benjamin Silaban and Pidum Officer Ipda Dzaky Raditya.
DS resisted during the arrest. AKP Hizkia Siagian explained, "During the arrest process... the suspect was successfully subdued." Police seized a T-key with its bit and a black Vivo cellphone.
