Robin Padilla leads Senate survey for 2028 elections

Sen. Robin Padilla emerged as the top preferred candidate for the Senate in the 2028 elections according to the latest OCTA Research survey. The poll was conducted from July 4 to 11.

The survey found that 59 percent of respondents said they would support Padilla if the 2028 elections were held during the fieldwork period. He was followed by Sen. Raffy Tulfo with 47.4 percent and Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano with 45.4 percent.

Other leading contenders included former senator Grace Poe at 44.5 percent, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto at 42 percent and Sen. Loren Legarda at 39 percent. Additional names such as former senator Manny Pacquiao were also listed.

OCTA Research noted that the findings reflect a hypothetical scenario only. "The survey captures voter preferences under a specific hypothetical list during the July 4 to 11 fieldwork period," the group said. It added that results should not be read as a prediction of the 2028 senatorial election.
