Saab receives multi-billion order for GlobalEye

Defense company Saab has secured a 10.1 billion kronor order for its GlobalEye model. The buyer is a country in the Middle East, but the name is kept secret for security reasons.

Saab announced the order on 27 July 2026. Deliveries are scheduled for 2030.

Press chief Mattias Rådström called the deal a positive message and strong proof that GlobalEye is a leading solution for airborne surveillance. Saab states that no further information about the customer can be released due to the nature of the industry and national security interests.

The United Arab Emirates has previously purchased the same type of aircraft. The order follows NATO's decision earlier in July to buy up to ten GlobalEye planes valued at around 40 billion kronor. Finland has also expressed interest in the model.
