Líder do SACP, Mapaila, rejeita ambições de cargos políticos

O secretário-geral do Partido Comunista Sul-Africano, Solly Mapaila, declarou que não tem interesse em ocupar cargos públicos durante o congresso do partido em Limpopo.

Solly Mapaila discursou aos delegados no 9º Congresso Eletivo do SACP em Limpopo, realizado em Nkowankowa, nos arredores de Tzaneen. Ele afirmou que o partido deve se concentrar na emancipação da classe trabalhadora em vez do avanço pessoal.

“Eu não tenho nenhuma agenda pessoal. Ninguém no movimento me deve nada. Agora, o que eles me oferecerão? Eu não preciso de um gabinete. Eu não preciso de um cargo político. Declaro claramente como secretário-geral do partido que não irei para o governo”, disse Mapaila.

Mapaila criticou o ANC por responder com ameaças após o SACP permitir que membros auxiliassem em campanhas eleitorais. O porta-voz do SACP, Mbulelo Mandlana, acrescentou que o partido não proibirá membros do ANC de buscar cargos de liderança no SACP.

Espera-se que novos líderes provinciais sejam anunciados no domingo.
