Samara and Raya Holding launch electric golf cart assembly in Saudi Arabia

Samara Land Transportation Services, a subsidiary of Alturki Holding, announced the launch of an electric golf cart assembly project in Saudi Arabia through a new joint venture with Raya Holding. The initiative aims to localize assembly, provide after-sales services, and target sectors like hospitality and tourism. Production is expected to exceed 3,000 units over the next two years, aligning with Vision 2030 goals.

Samara Land Transportation Services, a subsidiary of Alturki Holding, announced on Tuesday the start of an electric golf cart assembly project in Saudi Arabia via a new joint venture with Raya Holding. The partnership merges Samara's market leadership and presence in the Kingdom with Raya Holding's manufacturing and mobility know-how through its Raya Auto arm, focusing on localizing electric golf cart assembly, offering full after-sales support, and building local skills for sectors such as hospitality, tourism, construction, and urban development.

This effort responds to rising demand for sustainable transport in major Saudi projects and will aid job creation, technology transfer, and local manufacturing growth, supporting the Kingdom's Vision 2030 economic diversification aims. Output is projected to surpass 3,000 electric golf carts in the coming two years.

Bader AlShathry, Chairperson of Samara, stated that the venture "marks a step toward establishing a 'Saudi-assembled' standard for electric mobility," incorporating advanced connectivity and top-tier after-sales to ensure a quality experience tied to long-term local value.

Ahmed Khalil, Group CEO of Raya Holding, noted the collaboration "reflects Raya’s commitment to sustainable mobility and industrial localisation," blending Raya's innovation with Samara's insights to push forward next-generation solutions. "This joint venture reinforces our long-term commitment to the Saudi market and aligns closely with Vision 2030 objectives," he added.

Juan Carlos Azcona, CEO of Samara, called it a "milestone in shaping the future of mobility," highlighting shared dedication to eco-friendly transport for the Kingdom's infrastructure needs. Mohamed El-Naggar, CEO of Raya Auto, pointed to the firm's Egyptian success in electric vehicles, e-buses, and carts, applying a full-service model for excellence in Saudi Arabia.
