Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten 115 off 56 balls (15 fours, 4 sixes), his fourth IPL century and first for CSK. He reached three figures in 52 balls, his fastest in the tournament. Pathum Nissanka dropped him on 55. Ayush Mhatre made 59 off 36 balls before being retired out to allow Shivam Dube batting time. Samson also completed 400 T20 career sixes.
DC managed 189 in chase. Pathum Nissanka scored 41 and Tristan Stubbs a half-century, but KL Rahul (18) and Axar Patel (1) failed. Jamie Overton took 4/18 to turn the game.
