SEVENTEEN members VERNON and THE 8 have released their unit album V8. The project blends electronic sounds with personal reflections on their career and fans.
The album, out now, features seven tracks including lead single "singasong." VERNON pushed for the track as the focus despite initial label preference for "rat race."
VERNON and THE 8 discussed their creative process in a track-by-track interview. They collaborated with producers like Mechatok, Dylan Brady and Alice Longyu Gao.
VERNON described the goal of authenticity. "I don’t think authenticity is something you can calculate or artificially make," he said.
THE 8 noted their hands-on approach. "We just do everything our way," he said. The album includes solo tracks from each member.
