Chrono Trigger follows protagonist Crono, a young man who embarks on a time-traveling adventure after meeting scientist’s daughter Lucca and encountering a portal. The group explores eras from the prehistoric period to a dystopian future, forming alliances with characters like cavewoman Ayla and robot Robo. They uncover the origins of Lavos and its plan to destroy the world.

The game received an enhanced DS version with additional content, and PC remains the primary modern platform for players. Fans continue to hope for an HD-2D remake. Square Enix noted that further 30th anniversary projects are underway, extending beyond the game’s universe.
