Square Enix says Final Fantasy 15 on Switch 2 not impossible

Square Enix has indicated that a port of Final Fantasy 15 for the Nintendo Switch 2 remains a possibility despite hardware limitations. The comment came during a recent shareholder meeting in response to a direct question about the feasibility of bringing other Final Fantasy titles to the console.

A shareholder referenced the Final Fantasy 7 remake on the Nintendo Switch 2 and asked whether similar ports could be considered for games such as Final Fantasy 15. The company representative replied that certain hardware constraints exist for faithfully replicating the title but stated that it is not entirely impossible.

The representative added that the input would be passed to the development team as a valuable perspective on marketing and future platform options. A separate question during the meeting addressed potential updates to graphics and gameplay styles without requiring full remakes.

Square Enix responded by noting its market-in approach and ongoing efforts to balance player expectations with current market needs for both original titles and remakes.
