Tej Pratap counters Tejashwi's remark, calls people real owners

Tensions within the Yadav family have surfaced during Bihar assembly elections. Tej Pratap Yadav countered his brother Tejashwi's statement prioritizing the party in Mahua. He emphasized that the people are the true owners.

Tensions within the Yadav family have resurfaced in Bihar politics. According to a report from Patna on November 3, 2025, Tejashwi Yadav stated at a rally in the Mahua assembly constituency on Sunday, 'No one is bigger than the party, whether someone comes or goes. The party is like mother and father. If there is a party, there is everything; without it, there is nothing.' He was campaigning for RJD candidate Mukesh Raushan in Vaishali district's Mahua.

Tej Pratap Yadav, leader of Jan Shakti Janata Dal, sharply countered this statement. He said, 'Our younger and naive brother said today that no one is bigger than the party. But we want to tell our younger brother that the people are bigger than the party. They are the real owners. In democracy, only the people are the greatest, not any party or family.' Describing Mahua as his political base, Tej Pratap added, 'Mahua is my political karma-bhoomi and is above party and family for me. The party is just a system, but the people are our owners.'

Prior to Tejashwi's remark, his sister Rohini Acharya, while campaigning for him in Raghurpur, commented on Tej Pratap: 'Tej Pratap is my brother. My blessings will always be with him. He will serve the people and win. Every sister wants the family to stay together. We keep talking.' This incident is significant in the context of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections, where rivalry between Tej Pratap and Tejashwi is intensifying.
