The CW cancels Good Cop/Bad Cop after one season

The CW has canceled its procedural series Good Cop/Bad Cop after a single season, according to co-star Luke Cook. Leighton Meester starred in the show as a detective solving crimes in a quirky Pacific Northwest town. The announcement came via social media, with no official confirmation yet from the network.

Luke Cook, who played opposite Leighton Meester in Good Cop/Bad Cop, announced the cancellation on TikTok. He stated, "Sad to let you know this, but we will not be doing a Season 2 of 'Good Cop/Bad Cop.'" Cook expressed fondness for the production, saying, "I loved making that show. I loved making friends with everybody on that show, the cast and crew, and John [Quaintance], who wrote the show, they're all my great friends. So I'm sad we won't get to do it again." He thanked viewers and reflected on the industry, noting, "It's a tough business. Hollywood has the ability to make your dreams come true and also break your heart."

The series followed Meester as Lou and Cook as Henry, a sibling duo of detectives tackling cases in a small town. Clancy Brown portrayed their father, Big Hank, the local police chief. Filmed in Australia and aired there on Stan, the show premiered on The CW in February 2025 and concluded its eight-episode run in April 2025.

TVLine has contacted The CW for official comment on the decision. The cancellation ends the run of this quirky procedural after its freshman season.
